“Perfect holiday house in perfect location. Views were lovely. Well equipped. Nice and quiet and warm when the weather got cold. Lots of room for a family of 4. Would consider visiting again. Strongly recommend it to others.”

“Spent a lovely 3 nights winter getaway at Huruhi Bay Beach House. The house has beautiful views from all rooms and is well located approx 3 min drive or 20 min walk to Oneroa. The fire place was great and was well used along with the electric blankets on the cool nights. Great layout, the house had everything we needed and was comfortable. Nice walk down to the beach and local French cafe & shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to book again soon.”

“Stayed with another couple for a weekend. The house is good for 2-3 couples or adult kids but I would definitely not take young ones, the website mentions the decks but the windows on the upper floor open at a low level and they could fall out.
The floorplan worked well, good comfortable beds and the place was warm especially with the fire lit and private.
Best thing about it is the view which is stunning. The house itself is practical with no special touches. It does not look as good in real life as the photos but there is plenty of room. Kitchen is large and well equipped. The location would have been better if we took a car but that was our choice. The fridge wasn't working but we were told about that in advance and they had given us a lot of ice but we would not have lasted another day.
One thing that annoyed us was we paid $20 each for linen and the beds weren't made. Part of paying for it is just turning up otherwise may as well bring your own and we have not had this anywhere else we have stayed . Also a lot of instructions including how to fix the blinds,,,,,why would we do that? Think the service side could be a little better but we did have a great weekend”

“Wonderful views from spacious home. Would be helpful to inform prospective guests that they need to turn the hot water on as part of the instructions prior to arrival and have kindling available beside fireplace. Would be nice to have the beds made up considering the linen was an added cost. Enjoyed the views and spaciousness. Great shower too”

“Beautiful views and handy to Oneroa.
Unfortunately the location wasn’t as remote as we would have liked, this is a very built out area. There was construction happening to the house next door which is close and we could hear the builders all day. We also couldn’t park out rental car in the car park due to the road being messed up by the construction.
The house could do with some maintenance and water blasting and it was even suggested in the house book that visitors could repair blinds etc if they desired which seemed lazy and rude.
The fire was lovely for this time of year but we had to buy our own firewood as the wood supplied was wet and not appropriate for burning.
I would say this house would be great in Summer for larger groups but it’s not the isolated, cosy retreat we hoped for. ”
Owner/Manager responds:
“Hi Lindy, so glad you loved the views and proximity of Huruhi Bay Beachhouse to Oneroa. Unfortunately that proximity also means it isn’t as ‘remote’ as you would have liked. We feel happy that the view is 180 degrees plus and yet one only sees about 7 houses across the bay- best of both worlds.
Sadly we have no control over road works or neighbourhood house construction so sorry they were disruptive.
The house was repainted in 2019 - winter and road works may have caused some splashes of dirt? We have tried to repair the blinds - parts are proving elusive but we are persevering. The note on how to fix them if they come off the rollers again is a courtesy to our guests.
The firewood under the house should have been fine - the most recent wood was on the right, the dryest on the left- we just used it ourselves last week. Glad you enjoyed the warmth and atmosphere it brings.
Maybe our place was just too big for what you were looking for? It is a family beachhouse that sleeps up to 8 which may have been a bit open for your group of 2 :) Best wishes, Huruhi Bay Beachouse.”

“This was SUCH a lovely stay! Completely isolated but also in such easy and prime location. The view, incredible! The bathroom, beautiful. Good bedrooms and very communal living space. Bed linen not great- would recommend bringing your own if you prefer comfort of that kind, but otherwise a wonderful stay!”

“100% as advertised and exceeded expectations. Very well appointed but the space, the privacy and the views truly made this a special place to stay. Fantastic water pressure, even on tank water and in a drought.....and the view from the bathroom? As perfect as from every other room in the house. Sleeps 9+ and, on that basis, great value for money. I hope I get the opportunity to stay here again!”

“Positives:
A lovely place with wonderful views.
Negatives:
Some of the doors and roller blinds didn't function properly.
The internet coverage wasn't consistent.
The views would've been better had the glass doors/windows been cleaned.
You could smell the septic tank occasionally.
Parking is limited. ”
Owner/Manager responds:
“Hi Jason,
Thanks so much for your feedback regarding Huruhi Bay Beach House. We have passed it on to the owners and hope that it will ensure that appropriate repairs and maintenance are done quickly. We're sorry that the problems were experience by you and hope they didn't detract too much from your enjoyment of the home. Unfortunately, windows and glass in beach houses create an ongoing battle with attempting to keep them clean when the weather generally has other ideas. We do hope you enjoyed your stay here despite these issues and hope that we can help you again next time you visit Waiheke. :-)
cheers Lynda”

“A great Kiwi holiday home.
A home away from home. A lovely light filled house with a magnificent view.
Lots of space so perfect for family's or a group of friends.
We have stayed here twice now and enjoyed it both times.

“We had a wonderful time on Waiheke. Both the house and view are fantastic. The house is very quiet and private but also convenient for Oneroa. I would absolutely rent the house again if returning to Waiheke.”

“Huruhi Bay Beach House was amazing! Great location, beautiful views, well equipped and a really lovely house. It was even better than we expected. We all felt relaxed and at home as soon as we arrived. We wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely book again when we have another family holiday in NZ. Thank you for your help organising this wonderful stay.”

“We arrived on the island at approximately 9pm as we flew from Dunedin then caught the ferry over from Auckland. The key box was really easy to find and we were all so happy when we stepped foot into the beautiful Huruhi Bay BeachHouse. The house was everything that we could have hoped for and more! None of us could stop talking about, or taking photos of the view! Basically 360 degree views of beautiful blue waters, the calm bays and surrounded by forest/bush. It was so peaceful, we all felt so relaxed. We all would love to get back to Waiheke ASAP and would never think about staying anywhere else. Would recommend to anyone, couples, families, groups of friends. Thanks for a great space to relax for our holiday!!”
