This gorgeous cottage is pure magic! Set in a beautiful position at the water's edge in fabulous Arran Bay at Waiheke's eastern end it provides everything you could wish for in a magical beachfront holiday. Arran Bay is enriched with Waiheke history, as an Immigrant from the Isle of Arran in Scotland , Andrew Croll settled in Arran Bay in 1888. As one of the first subdivisions on Waiheke Island Arran Bay was subdivided for holiday bachs in 1904 and it is thought that the 'Boat House'; was the third house in the Bay. Most of the 15 houses in the Bay were built from the sea as the road down into the Bay was only formalised in the 1990's. The tradition of the 1897 Arran Bay Regatta continues to this day with the New Year Arran Bay v Orapiu Bay Regatta, A fishing competition also usually forms part of the January holiday programme. |
 |
The cottage has been recently fully redecorated and is beautifully presented - "charming and delicious"! Stacking doors open from the living to the front deck, overlooking the lawn, beach and bay and ensure absolutely fabulous views over the bay and the islands beyond. There is also an extensive deck at the rear of the house, with views through the house to the sea, or views over the garden and the beautiful native bush clad hillside behind. On the beach just in front of the cottage is your very own boatshed, loaded with all kinds of fun-in-the-water treasures such as dinghy & outboard, fishing rods, body boards etc. A deepwater mooring in the bay is available by prior arrangement. Pure Holiday Heaven! |
